Camping ( Halloween Festivities)

This October we found ourselves exploring the outdoors more than our family typically does.  We are not the outdoorsy type.  I find having a good time is setting on my comfortable couch wrapped up in a blanket reading a book to Chloe-Beth or snuggling with Christian while we watch one of HIS favorite movies.  However one must venture outdoors eventually... and boy did we!

We started off by taking my dad's camper and camping out at the Horse Park with my sister and her two kids.  It rained the first night and I was beginning to wonder about this whole camping thing.  I was afraid the wind would blow our little house over but we managed to survive the night to wake to a beautiful morning.  We biked several, several miles, played on the playground, roasted marshmallows, and genuinely had a great time.

The next weekend we also camped out but this time with our friends the Watts'.  It was quiet the adventurous weekend.  The Halloween festivities were all in place and just waiting for all the campers to arrive.   People decorate their campsites, start up their campfires, and set up their picnic tables with an endless amount of food.
There is a band, costume contests, trick or treating, haunted trails, and golf cart parades!!  This is a great place for kids and we always have a great time.

Christian would come back every weekend........

of one of the jumping obstacles at the Horse Park.

Our little home for two weekends.

The kids out bike riding.

Mom thought she would join them.

Michael relaxing after a great meal. Christian may be going back for seconds.

Chloe and I making a craft over at the campsite shelter.

Dad sets up camper # 2.

My little biker girl!

Golf Cart resting before the golf cart parade.  This is pre-decor (we dressed it as a pumpkin).

Berk is the ballet dancer, Christian is the wolf , and Chloe Beth  is a princess.

Taking time during trick or treat for a picture with me.

Playing while waiting on the costume contest to begin.

My favorite costume--this girl was a giant ant on a picnic table--I loved it!

A hayride driven by a golf cart-You can't get any better than that!!
